Join in with one of our pre-bookable creative workshops led by friendly, skilled tutors. Suitable for all ability levels, whether you are trying out a new hobby or honing your crafting skills you will have something beautiful to take home, created by you!

Beaded Charm Bracelets Workshop

Make up to two beautiful beaded charm bracelets from an inspiring assortment of colourful beads collected over the past 20 years from far flung corners of the globe. Featuring semi precious beads (including all the birth stones), pearl, wood, ceramic and crystal. 

You’ll be shown how to design and knot your bracelets by Debbie of Make Space Chelmsford. 

You’ll also be offered the chance to use letter beads to create an affirmation bracelet as a beautiful mindful act of self care during this class.

Age: 10+ (under 16’s must be accompanied by a paying adult)

Needle Felting Workshop - Life Size Wren

Discover the joy of sculpting with wool in this hands-on 2-hour workshop, where you’ll learn how to needle felt your very own life-size wren. Using high-quality, sustainably sourced British Romney wool, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process – no prior experience needed!

Whether you’re a crafty beginner or looking to expand your fiber art skills, this session is a perfect way to relax, learn a new technique, and take home a charming handmade bird.Spaces are limited – book now to reserve your spot and bring a little woodland magic to life!

Introduction to Linocut Workshop

Learn how to carve and print your own lino block by hand. This two hour hands-on workshop is designed for complete beginners. You will be guided through the process of designing, carving and printing your own lino block onto cards or prints

To begin with you will learn how to use the carving tools and the basic cutting techniques. An initial practice block is made which allows you to experiment with mark-making and will help you get used to the tools quickly. You may wish to bring some of your own images to work from, however plenty of inspiration will be at hand to help you decide. You will be shown how to develop your image for printing and the process of transferring it on to the Lino block ready to print. You will be shown how to ink your Lino block and how to burnish prints by hand. 

By the end of the workshop you will have a small edition of your own prints and the knowledge and skills to continue your Lino printing journey at home. Bring an apron if desired.

Harvest Tokens Workshop

Learn how to make your own harvest tokens from straw using the compass plait technique. 

Traditionally small tokens would have been made after the harvest to give to a sweetheart or loved one. Sometimes they might have also have been worn to show that you were available to work on the harvest. Nowadays, they are enjoyed as decorative pieces for the home. 

Come along to this straw workshop and make your own to take home. All materials will be provided. Lucy Hook-Child is a corn dolly maker and straw worker from north Essex. She is a member of Heritage Crafts and of Straw Craftsmen. You can find out more about her work here

Drop in at one of the ‘make-and-take’ sessions taking place at the exhibitor’s stand within the craft marquees. 

Make Your Own Glass Coaster

Join Linda at the Racing Tabby stand where she will be running ‘Make Your Own Coaster’ sessions.

All materials will be provided and she will help you create your own unique glass coaster(s).

Linda will then take your work away, fire it and return it to you by post. You are also welcome to collect your finished article(s) from the Racing Tabby workshop.

Marble Your Own Stone Tile/Fabric/Wooden Mushroom Plus A Card

Head to the Marble Art Originals stand for one to one tuition with marbling specialist Craig Joubert.

Craig will be teaching traditional and contemporary marbling techniques, printing onto a choice of objects, including a stone tile, fabric or wood.

You can also purchase your own Marbling Kit to continue your marbling journey at home.

Stick & Stitch Embroidery

Embroidering on your projects is a great way to put your own personal mark on your wardrobe. Stick and Stitch embroidery uses dissolvable paper so you’ll be able to add designs to any fabric. Follow the lines of the design, then the paper dissolves away when you are done. This is a great way to give new life to garments and accessories you already own, breathing new life into your style!

Drop by with something from home that you would like to stitch on, or practice on a piece of cloth provided. £2 for materials includes a stick and stitch flower, needle, thread and cloth if needed. Natalie will show you some simple stitches to get you started and chat through your  ideas! Additional supplies available for purchase if you want to continue at home.
